Information about the Places

1. Stop

Ortaköy : Ortaköy,(literally "the village in the middle") the European Bosphorus shore, formerly a
small village, is now among Istanbul's coolest, chic-est, most artsy neighborhoods, with trendy
boutiques, atmospheric cafes and bistrots, and crowds of young, sophisticated residents and
visitors. It's a good place to stop for tea or coffee, a snack or a meal, a stroll, some boutique
window-shopping or a rest, particularly if you are in Bosphorus cruise.

2. Stop

Beylerbeyi Palace : An Imperial Ottoman summer residence built in the 1860s, it is now situated
immediately north of the 1973 Bosphorus Bridge .Beylerleyi Palace was commissioned by Sultan
Abdülaziz (1830–1876) and built between 1861 and 1865 as a summer residence and a place to
entertain visiting heads of state. Empress Eugénie of France visited Beylerbeyi on her way to the
opening of the Suez Canal in 1869.

3. Stop

Rumeli Fortress : Rumelihisarı is situated at the narrowest point with 660 meters of the Bosporus
strait, just opposite of the Anadoluhisarı on the Anatolian side. The place was chosen to prevent aid
from the Black Sea reaching Constantinople during the Turkish siege of the city in1453.

4. Stop

Anadolu Kavağı: Perched above the village are the ruins of Anadolu Kavagı a medieval castle with
seven massive towers in its walls. First built by the Byzantines, it was restored and reinforced by the
Genoese in 1350,and later by the Ottomans. Exposing a panoramic view of istanbul, Bosphorus and
Black sea from the best point of view.

5. Stop

Poyrazköy : Poyrazkoy is one of the villages nearest to the Black Sea and is located on the
Anatolian side of the Istanbul. From the minaret a bridge leads out to the gun emplacements and
ammunition stores and a great view. Although the village is located on top of a hill, there is a road
leading to the beach just before the village. Poyrazkoy is an excellent place for a break or for shelter
while sailing from Istanbul to the Black Sea.
